Georgia On Your Mind Season Two “Beyond the Hedges”

As a recipient of the Spark Award, I joined Kelly Corder and Beau Wallace as co-hosts for our podcast “Georgia on Your Mind” Season Two: Beyond the Hedges. This opportunity allowed me to hone my podcasting skills, from brainstorming episode concepts to arranging interviews and establishing a consistent brand style and voice.

With guidance from our mentor, Chris Gerlach, we curated a captivating six-episode series delving into the University of Georgia’s hidden gems, uncovering fascinating departments and the remarkable individuals driving them forward.

In addition, I took charge of promotional campaigns to ignite excitement among our audience for the upcoming season. Leveraging dynamic visual storytelling and curated content, we crafted engaging narratives that captivated our audience’s attention.

Videography

My team and I crafted a storyboard to succinctly capture the essence of season two while offering tantalizing glimpses into each episode. During our interviews, we made a concerted effort to visit our guests and experience their work firsthand. Personally taking on the roles of videographer and editor, I meticulously crafted our trailer, seamlessly integrating visual elements to enhance our already compelling audio content.

Stuckey’s Candy Plant Tour

To deepen audience engagement, I produced Instagram reels showcasing tours with our guests. These reels provide a vivid window into the topics we explore on the podcast and allow listeners to immerse themselves in our episodes.

In this reel, we took a tour of Stuckey’s Candy Plant in Wrens, GA, to get some behind-the-scenes footage of Stephanie Stuckey, the CEO of Stuckey, as part of our Small Business Development Center episode.

“Georgia On Your Mind” Season Two Poster

For Season Two, our team journeyed ‘Beyond the Hedges,’ delving into the diverse departments that, alongside football, shape the excellence of the University of Georgia.

In conceptualizing our poster, I aimed to craft a sleek, attention-grabbing design. Drawing upon the collective wisdom of my peers at the New Media Institute, I iteratively refined and elevated our final poster. Through collaborative brainstorming and valuable feedback sessions, we honed its visual impact and messaging.

Web Development

I revamped the “Georgia On Your Mind” podcast website to showcase Season Two: Beyond the Hedges. For this design, I split the seasons into two pages, added a guest panel to feature our guests in each episode, and added a page explaining what we uncovered. I also added bios for myself and my other co-hosts, Kelly Corder and Beau Wallace.
